Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of Ola, informed on Tuesday that Krutrim has rolled out the AI model R1671B by the Chinese company DeepSeek in India, on Nvidia’s H100 graphics cards.
Aggarwal mentioned that while India should be cautious regarding the DeepSeek app, it may lead to good opportunities with the open-source version of the model running on a private server. This progress could see India inching forward with the technological advances in AI. He shared in a post on X that the open-source model is the largest and the best available, and for the month of February, Indian developers can access it at Rs 1 per million tokens.
Last month, Aggarwal posted on X that the advanced AI models developed by DeepSeek had been deployed successfully in India on Krutrim’s servers. He asserted that India must remain competitive in AI, and this is the next step toward bringing DeepSeek models to India.
Last month, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the DeepSeek models would be hosted shortly on servers in India, thus seeing the growth in the country’s AI structure.
