The shares of Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services witnessed a rise on Thursday, September 17, following news about significant investment in the hospital from Advent International, a global private equity firm.
The stock of the hospital firm based out of Noida witnessed a rise of 8.63% on NSE to register a record high of ₹1,067 per share. On the BSE, the shares increased by up to 8.37%, to reach ₹1,065 per share.
According to Yatharth Hospital, it has inked an agreement with Advent International to invest ₹3,150 crore. As part of the agreement, Advent International will have a 24.9% stake in the firm.
As per the firm, despite the investment, the Tyagi family promoting the Yatharth Hospital will remain the largest shareholder of the company. In addition, the family will continue to provide guidance in the future strategy of the company.
Yatharth Hospital stated that this development is significant in terms of the company’s growth journey. According to the company, Advent will assist in providing money, healthcare expertise, international knowledge and business acumen to the company.
Yatharth Tyagi, Whole-time Director at Yatharth Hospitals, stated that the investment reflects confidence in the firm’s business and future plans. Additionally, he indicated that such collaboration can help Yatharth Hospital expand its presence, healthcare offerings, and network of hospitals in India.
Moreover, Pankaj Patwari, Managing Director at Advent International, highlighted that the investment reflects Advent’s interest in India’s rapidly developing healthcare sector. Furthermore, he added that Advent is planning to collaborate with the Tyagi family in order to achieve the next level of growth for the firm.
Also, the Board of Directors at Yatharth Hospital approved the increase in the authorised capital of the company from ₹115 crore to ₹150 crore. However, the mentioned change will need shareholders’ approval and approval from other necessary authorities.
Furthermore, there was increased trading activity in Yatharth Hospital shares. Specifically, 1 lakh shares were traded on the BSE, while the daily average number of traded shares in the last two weeks amounted to around 20,000 shares.
At 12:54 pm, the share price amounted to ₹1,037, which was 5.5% higher than the previous close. At the same time, the NIFTY Smallcap 500 Index was 0.86% higher.
