The shares of Trent will likely be in limelight on Tuesday, October 6, after the Tata Group’s retail firm stated an impressive performance of its business in the September quarter, or Q2 FY27.
As per the company’s preliminary business update, the standalone revenue from operations of Trent without GST rose 23% YoY to ₹5,788 crore in Q2 FY27. The revenue of the company from merchandise sales, excluding other operating income, also rose 23%.
In the first half of FY27, the revenue of Trent from operations rose 21% YoY to ₹11,454 crore, suggesting that the company sustained a strong pace of growth in its business.
Perhaps one of the most noteworthy features of Q2 FY27 was the expansion of Zudio, which is one of the well-known fashion and lifestyle brands of Trent. In Q2 FY27, the number of outlets for Zudio reached 1,000. On a net basis, Zudio expanded its number of stores by 17 in Q2 FY27. In the first half of FY27, the number of outlets opened by Zudio stood at 36.
Trent has also launched 10 new Westside outlets during the September quarter. Till September 30, Trent had a total of 1,342 outlets for Westside, Zudio and other lifestyle brands.
The revenue growth of 23% clearly shows the increasing trend in Trent’s retail business. Shares of Trent were trading around ₹2,580 on October 5, and they were down close to 10% during the year 2026. Investors would see if the good Q2 result and further growth of Zudio brand would help the stock.
Trent’s Q1 FY27 Performance
In June quarter too, Trent had reported very good results. The company’s net profit grew 26% to ₹532 crore, up from ₹423 crore last year.
Revenue from operations went up by 18.5% to ₹5,666 crore from ₹4,781 crore.
EBITDA grew 33% to ₹1,110 crore, while EBITDA margin increased to 19.6%.
As of Q1, Trent had 1,312 outlets in 330 cities, which included three stores in UAE. There were 982 outlets of Zudio, and 301 outlets of Westside. Trent had opened 19 new Zudio stores and one Westside outlet in Q1.
