Pune, 28 Sep 2025

India exported 2,94,276.7 tonnes of coffee between January 1 and September 25, 2025, according to provisional data released by the Coffee Board. The numbers include both Indian coffee and re-exports and cover Arabica, Robusta, instant coffee (GBE), and roasted coffee.

Italy remained the largest buyer, importing 48,873.8 tonnes, mostly Robusta, followed by Germany at 24,695 tonnes. The Russian Federation ranked third with 23,474.7 tonnes, driven by strong demand for instant coffee (20,072 tonnes). Other major buyers included Belgium (17,721 tonnes), United Arab Emirates (12,960 tonnes), Turkey (11,947 tonnes), and Libya (11,120 tonnes).

The United States imported nearly 9,298 tonnes, while Poland, Jordan, Malaysia, and Egypt were also significant markets. Instant coffee exports made up a large share of shipments, totaling 1,10,855 tonnes, showing India’s strength in value-added coffee products.

Industry observers say steady demand from Europe and West Asia is helping India’s coffee sector stay strong in 2025, despite global price fluctuations. Exporters are optimistic about closing the year with higher numbers as demand for instant and specialty coffee continues to rise.
