Four leading IT companies- Chubb Business Services, Integreon Managed Solutions, Bourntec Solutions and Secuodsoft Technologies- have opened their new centres in Odisha’s capital, Bhubaneswar as the state tries to attract investment in the IT sector.
Together, these four centres are likely to create employment for over 2,000 people in the state in the next three years.
Speaking on the opening of new centres, the Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi said, “The presence of these companies in Odisha is a testament to our state’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment. From IT to Manufacturing, from Research and Development to Professional Services, Odisha’s diverse industrial landscape is expanding rapidly. We have set for ourselves the target to make Odisha a $500 Billion economy by 2036 and a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047. IT/ITeS and the larger Services Sector will play a critical role in helping us achieve these targets.”
“In more ways than one, Bhubaneswar today stands out among Tier 2 cities as the pre-eminent centre of choice for top IT companies and professional services firms,” Electronics & IT Minister of Odisha, Mukesh Mahaling said.
Bhubaneswar has emerged as an important centre for IT & BPM companies in recent years. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, LTIMindtree, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Concentrix and others. The big for consulting firms – PwC, Deloitte, EY and KPMG- also have presence in the state.
Software exports from the state have reached approximately reached one billion US Dollars.
