Bloomberg announced that the New Zealand Superannuation Fund (NZ Super) has adopted Bloomberg’s Data License Plus (DL+) – the next generation of Data License, as well as Bloomberg’s Corporate Structure offering. This reflects NZ Super’s commitment to operational excellence and highlights a significant advancement in its data capabilities, including the adoption of Bloomberg’s Corporate Structure data solution and the implementation of DL+ in the cloud to provide application-ready data across the firm.
“Data License Plus makes it much easier for us to share information within and between teams, which enables better decision-making and is essential to effectively implementing the Total Portfolio Approach,” said Paula Steed, Chief Operating Officer at the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation, manager of NZ Super.

The Value of Data License Plus (DL+)
Bloomberg’s Data License Plus (DL+) is the next generation of Data License, designed to help clients unlock the full value of their Bloomberg data faster and with less friction. DL+ provides immediate access to the Operational Data Store (ODS), a centralized, enterprise-wide repository of all subscribed Bloomberg data. DL+ Live complements the ODS by extending this foundation with on-demand access to the most current data, supporting time-sensitive workflows. Smart Sourcing enables flexible retrieval of data from both the ODS and DL+ Live within a single request, minimizing disruption to existing processes.
This integration allows NZ Super to consume Bloomberg data directly within its cloud environment, fueling advanced analytics and modern investment workflows. This positions DL+ as a strategic enabler for cloud transformation, helping firms scale efficiently while maintaining robust governance.
Corporate Structure Insights
In addition to using Bloomberg’s market-leading Reference data, NZ Super is also using Bloomberg’s Corporate Structure data solution, which provides comprehensive global corporate hierarchy and descriptive data for over eight million legal entities, including parent-child linkages, country of risk, LEI, and other entity-level insights.
