Alkyl Amines Chemicals has suspended production at three of its plants due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East region. This is due to the severe impact of the situation in the region on the supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and ammonia.

Cause of Force Majeure

The company issued a force majeure declaration on the 16th of March, 2026. The declaration stated that the current situation in the Middle East region has caused a severe impact on global logistics and the supply chain for crude oil and petrochemicals. This situation is especially severe for the supply chain for LNG, which is required for the production of ammonia, an essential raw material for Alkyl Amines Chemicals.

Details of the Suspension

Due to the unavailability of ammonia, Alkyl Amines Chemicals has suspended the production of essential products such as methylamines and ethylamines at three of its plants in Patalganga, Kurkumbh, and Dahej. However, production will continue as usual for products that do not require ammonia for production.

The major challenge faced by the company is the disruption in the supply of LNG, which is required for the production of ammonia. Some ammonia providers have also issued a force majeure declaration due to this crisis. This makes it difficult for the company to procure this raw material. Hence, the production of ammonia-dependent raw materials such as methylamines and ethylamines is stopped. Nevertheless, raw materials that do not depend on ammonia will be produced.

The company has announced that it is not possible to assess the financial impact of this force majeure event at this moment. The company is carefully observing this situation and is trying to procure this raw material from alternative sources in order to minimize the impact. The company is also committed to keeping the stock exchanges updated about any important developments in this regard.
