The upcoming Trump administration’s plan to bring in more efficiency in the US government is likely to supplement the revenue growth of Accenture, which already has existing engagements with several federal agencies.
In the recently concluded first quarter results (September-November) period, the company has indicated that all the focus of Trump and his team on bringing in more efficiency can help the company to win more deals.
“We’re really excited because our core competencies in federal, are around driving efficiencies. They’re around helping — keep our country secure. We’re working with the U.S. federal agency on securing critical infrastructure, and on changing citizen services. We work across very important agencies. And so, we believe that we’re super well positioned to continue to help the mission of the federal government to secure itself, to help citizens and to drive more efficiencies, which will be tied very much to cloud, data and AI,” Julie Sweet, CEO of Accenture has said during the post Q1 results conference call.
According to reports, Accenture draws around 8% of its revenue from its engagement with the US government agencies.
President-Elect Donald Trump, who will take oath as the next President of the US on January 20, has appointed Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the a newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. The focus of this new initiative is to cut down unnecessary expenditure of the US government departments through bringing in more efficiency.
Such initiatives are likely to create opportunities for IT outsourcing companies like Accenture, IBM, TCS, Infosys, and Cognizant among others to bag large federal projects.
