The US President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday announced that Indian-origin entrepreneur and aide of billionaire Elon Musk, Sriram Krishnan as the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

“Sriram Krishnan will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI and help shape and coordinate AI policy across Government, including working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology,” Trump, in a post on his social media platform Truth Social wrote.

Krishnan started his career as a founding member of Windows Azure at Microsoft and worked in other technology giants like Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter (Now X) and others.

He will be working closely with ex-PayPal COO David Sacks, who has been appointed as the White House Artificial Intelligence and Crypto Czar by Trump.

Reacting to his appointment, Krishnan in a post on X, wrote, “I’m honoured to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI.Thank you, Donald Trump, for this opportunity.”

Trump is having favourable views on crypto assets and is believed to be in favour of supporting innovation in the space of AI with adequate control.
