Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has been effusive in his praise about India after meeting the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during his visit to the US.
Speaking at a roundtable discussion with Prime Minister Modi in New York, Nvidia’s chief Jensen Huang recently highlighted the vast potential in India’s artificial intelligence sector, indicating that Indian businesses can seize this historic moment, especially in technology and innovation, according to ANI. He said this is the right time for India in terms of being an opportunity for businesses from the country.
“This is India’s moment. You have to seize the opportunity,” he said at the roundtable held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel. He praised India as a hub for some of the world’s top computer scientists and expressed Nvidia’s eagerness to establish deep partnerships in the emerging field of AI.
Huang emphasized the importance of AI infrastructure in supporting the rapidly growing startup ecosystem in India. “India is the third biggest startup economy, and that new generation of startups relies very heavily on AI. To support them, we need robust AI infrastructure,” he said. Across the country, in many partnerships, Nvidia has committed to enabling such growth.
Huang reflected on his meeting with PM Modi, saying he liked the Prime Minister “very much,” calling him “an incredible student” hungry to learn about technology and its potential for transforming India. “Each time I meet him, he wants to discuss how AI is impacting society and industry,” Huang said.
Additionally, Huang mentioned that the Nvidia AI Centres of Excellence will be established in each one of the Indian Institutes of Technology, which will provide students with the necessary skills and competencies that are required to weather the AI world. And he further made a point that AI has only made computers more accessible as well as brought about the democratization of technology.
At the same meeting, Jensen Huang predicts an optimistic future for AI for India as a country moving to pioneer technology. The future of artificial intelligence is here and now with Nvidia and Indian innovators coming together.
