TeamLease EdTech’s latest Career Outlook Report for the period of July to December 2024 highlights a positive hiring trend in Bengaluru, leading the fresher hiring across India. 74% of employers in Bengaluru intend to hire fresh graduates in this half-year, making it the city with the highest fresher hiring intent, significantly above Mumbai (60%) and Chennai (54%).

The report showcases E-commerce & Technology Start-ups, Engineering & Infrastructure, and Retail as the top sectors hiring freshers in Bengaluru. These industries are experiencing rapid growth due to digital transformation and infrastructural expansion, positioning Bengaluru as a leading employment hub in India. Freshers in Bengaluru have promising opportunities in high-demand roles such as Full Stack Developer, where the demand is at 56%, the highest among all cities. Digital Sales Associates are also critical in the city’s booming tech start-up ecosystem, with 71% demand. Data Engineer roles are particularly prominent, with a remarkable 73% demand, reinforcing Bangalore’s status as a tech innovation hub.

Employers in Bengaluru are actively seeking freshers proficient in key technical skills such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data analytics. In addition to these technical proficiencies, soft skills like communication, teamwork, and project management are highly valued, aligning with the requirements of the modern workplace.

Shantanu Rooj, Founder & CEO, TeamLease EdTech, shared his insights on the evolving job market, stating, “Bengaluru’s position as a frontrunner in fresher hiring underscores the city’s role as a nucleus of innovation and digital transformation. What we are witnessing is not just a temporary surge but a structural shift towards skills that define the future, including cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data analytics. The demand for talent is shifting from traditional industries to dynamic, tech-driven environments, and Bangalore stands at the forefront of this change.”

Jaideep Kewalramani, Head of Employability Business and COO, TeamLease EdTech said, “Bengaluru continues to be a beacon for fresh talent, particularly in high-growth sectors like E-commerce and Tech Start-ups. As we deep-dive into the market, a certain set of skills emerges on top. So freshers need to note this and prepare themselves accordingly. Those with the right skills are poised to succeed in impactful roles.”
