If you are taking an Uber ride on a Saturday evening, then you are most likely to forget items like phone, laptop bags, keys, and headphones in your cab. That’s what was found out by ride-hailing company, Uber’s Annual Lost and Found Index for India.
According to the survey, the most forgetful days of the week for Indians are Saturday, Friday, and Sunday. Usually, people tend to forget items in their cabs during these days. Similarly, evening time like 7 PM, 8 PM, and 6 PM, is the most forgetful time when people usually forget to get their belongings from an Uber ride when they disembark.
Giving a list of the 10 most commonly forgotten items, the index listed phones, laptop bags, clothing, keys, headphones, wallet, spectacles/sunglasses, water bottle, jewelry, and watch, which riders usually forget on their cabs after the end of the journey.
The index also listed Delhi as the most forgetful city in the country for the second year in a row.
“Mumbai retained its second spot. Bangalore reclaimed its third place from Hyderabad, which slipped to fourth as residents became more watchful about their belongings. Pune rounded up the top five most forgetful cities in the country. Backed by insights and data, Uber’s Lost and Found Index aims to educate riders in a fun yet informative manner about in-app options available to them at the tap of a button, in case they lose or forget something in their Uber during their trip,” the company said in a release.
Uber pointed out that riders can retrieve their lost items
Commenting on the Index, Nitish Bhushan, Head of Central Operations, said, “We’ve all been riders, and have had that moment where we suddenly realised we left behind a precious item or even a cherished belonging in a cab. With Uber, you have the option to attempt retrieving the lost item by simply following a few steps in the app. We understand the trust riders put in us each time they take an Uber ride, and we felt the time was opportune to provide a quick refresher course on how to retrieve lost items.”
