Reliance Industries Limited has issued an official clarification rejecting recent media reports that claimed the company purchased crude oil of Iranian origin. In an exchange filing on March 26, the company said that the allegations are “entirely baseless, factually incorrect, and misleading.” The clarification came after certain media reports suggested that the company had procured Iranian crude amid global supply disruptions and speculation surrounding sanctions relief.
The company further urged media outlets to verify facts thoroughly before publishing. Such reports and cautioned against spreading unverified claims which could misinform stakeholders and public . The exchange filing, signed by Company Secretary Savithri Parekh, reaffirmed that the company has not purchased crude oil of Iranian origin, aiming to address market speculation and maintain transparency with investors.
