IT major Wipro has said Ranjita Ghosh would take up the role of Global Chief Marketing Officer from 1 February 2025. Ranjita Ghosh will take up this role after Laura Langdon leaves Wipro for further career development. She will be directly under the guidance of Hari Shetty, Wipro’s Chief Strategist and Technology Officer.
Ghosh’s promotion is part of a larger series of leadership changes within Wipro, which in recent months has witnessed some senior executive departures. In the last one year, nearly a dozen senior leaders have left the company. This comes after former CEO Thierry Delaporte’s exit in April, which has led to a reshuffle of top executives.
Ranjita Ghosh has been with Wipro for long and earlier handled marketing functions for the company across Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) regions. She now assumes the role of global CMO, where she will head all marketing functions of Wipro globally. The work will include developing the global brand of the company and contributing to its overall growth.
Before this promotion, Ghosh had been undertaking various marketing functions at Wipro, which included brand positioning, customer experience, and partnerships with influencers. She had also looked into innovative marketing strategies for improving customer relationships. Ghosh comes with almost 20 years of experience in the global technology sector. She has worked in sales, business development, and ecosystem partnership roles, acquiring rich experience in the domain.
Ghosh has a degree in printing technology and has a post-graduate qualification in marketing and operations. In addition, she holds a diploma in cyber law. Wipro continues to further reinforce its leadership team with internal appointments, which have included Omkar Nisal as CEO of Europe Strategic Market Unit and some other key leadership roles around the world.
