Premier Energies Limited has booked new orders totaling ₹4,001 crores for Q2 FY2027. The orders include supply of solar cells and modules along with setting up of solar power plants.
Premier Energies has secured orders worth 2,308 MW of solar cells and modules. This includes the demand from power producers, solar power project developers, and other manufacturing units.
Capacity Expansion
The manufacturing capacity at Premier Energies has been expanded to meet increasing demands. This includes doubling the manufacturing capacity of solar modules from 5.5 GW to 11.1 GW. In addition, the capacity to manufacture solar cells has also increased from 3.6 GW to 10.6 GW.
This has been achieved by installing a new 7 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing plant in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh. TOPCon is an advanced technology that enhances the ability of solar cells to convert solar energy into electrical energy.
Significance of the Orders
The new order value of ₹4,001 crore can help in Premier Energies’ business growth in the upcoming quarters. The company produces solar cells and modules and provides engineering, procurement, and construction services for solar plants.
The increasing emphasis of the Indian government on renewable energy and local production of solar products can help the company gain more opportunities. Policies made by the government favoring local production of solar products can also help.
Recent Events
Premier Energies started its 7 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing unit at Naidupeta in September 2026. The company has also set up a wholly-owned subsidiary at Singapore along with a joint venture partnership with RCT India to establish a battery storage plant with a total storage capacity of 12 GWh.
What Should Investors Look Out For?
The speed of completion of the orders and increased production in the new plant should be watched by investors.
Any changes in raw materials prices, production cost, and delay of the projects could impact its bottom line. High order amounts do not necessarily mean high profits.
The future performance of Premier Energies depends on effective order completion, cost control, production effectiveness, and sustained need for solar energy products.
