State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has announced the appointment of Ashish Bhatnagar and Debasish Mukherjee as Executive Directors, strengthening its senior leadership with seasoned professionals who bring over three decades of industry experience each.
Ashish Bhatnagar, an Executive Director, is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Jodhpur University. He began his career at ONGC as an Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical) at Mehsana and has since held key positions across major ONGC operational and strategic centres, including Mehsana, Nazira, Dehradun, Mumbai, ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), and Delhi. With 36 years of experience, Bhatnagar has been associated with core operations, project execution, and overseas business exposure.
Debasish Mukherjee, also appointed as Executive Director, holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Jadavpur University, an MBA from IGNOU, and a PhD in Management from Amity University, Noida. He joined ONGC as a Materials Management Officer in Dehradun and has served in multiple locations such as Dehradun, Chennai, Delhi, and Jorhat. Mukherjee brings 35 years of experience, with deep expertise in materials management, procurement, and administrative leadership.
The appointments come at a time when ONGC is focusing on operational efficiency, cost optimisation, and long-term energy security initiatives. The inclusion of experienced executives is expected to support the company’s strategic objectives across upstream operations and organisational transformation.
