JSW Steel reported consolidated crude steel production of 6.59 million tonnes in the first quarter of FY27, up 3% year-on-year, even as its Vijayanagar Blast Furnace 3 remained under shutdown for capacity expansion and resumed hot metal production only from June 23, 2026. The company said growth was impacted by the BF3 outage, but excluding the shutdown effect from the base period, Q1 production rose around 15% YoY, supported by the full ramp-up of JVML operations and better utilisation at its Dolvi unit. Capacity utilisation for Indian operations, excluding the BF3 capacity under shutdown, stood at about 94% during the quarter.
