Paradip Port Authority has reinforced its position as India’s No. 1 major port after achieving a record cargo handling of 150.41 million metric tonnes (MMT) in FY 2024–25. With a rated capacity of 289 MTPA and a provisional net surplus of ₹1,860 crore, the port continues to set national benchmarks in operational efficiency and financial performance. Known for maintaining the lowest vessel and cargo charges among major ports, Paradip Port has emerged as a key driver of India’s maritime trade growth.
Building on its series of operational successes, the port marked its highest-ever single-day thermal coal unloading on February 14, 2026. The dedicated Team PPA efficiently managed 47 rakes in one day, comprising 41 BOBRN (Bogie Open Bottom Rapid Discharge) rakes and 6 BOXN (Bogie Open High Sided) rakes. This feat underscores the port’s superior productivity levels and its essential contribution to sustaining the nation’s energy security and industrial logistics networks.
