Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT services provider, has signed a five-year agreement with Air New Zealand to enhance the airline’s digital infrastructure. While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, this partnership will assist the airline in boosting its operations and customer experiences.

TCS will concentrate on computerizing Air New Zealand’s technology by incorporating AI, automation, and cloud-based services into more than 600 of its applications. This will automate core airline operations like cargo services, flight disruption management, maintenance systems, retail services, and crew operations. The idea is to increase efficiency, enable smooth service, and enhance the passenger experience across various areas of the business, such as fleet management and crew scheduling.

Air New Zealand, carrying over 15 million passengers every year, operates 3,400 flights a week to 49 domestic and international destinations. TCS will assist the airline to streamline its operations and customer support through cutting-edge digital solutions. The alliance promises to introduce extensive improvements in customer satisfaction as well as operational effectiveness.

The formal contract was signed at the TCS Banyan Park Campus in Mumbai, with the New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, besides TCS chiefs like chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran and CEO K Krithivasan. The CEO of TCS, K Krithivasan, reported that the services of the company would enable Air New Zealand to create new efficiency, sustainability, and customer-interaction standards. With the use of AI and cloud technology, TCS will assist in transforming the airline’s operations to become more agile and resilient.

TCS has operated in New Zealand for more than 37 years and maintains an office in Auckland as well as a pool of 460 professionals. Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran stated that since beginning to work with TCS in September 2024, the airline already realized remarkable benefits from digital solutions offered by TCS. In the future, TCS will continue playing an important part in transforming cargo and digital retail businesses of the airline.
