Meta intends to lay off around 5% of its underperformers, a memo from Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said. The company wants to achieve 10% “non-regrettable” attrition during the end of this performance cycle. This includes the 5% of employees who were let go in 2024. According to Zuckerberg, the company would expedite the process to remove low performers which traditionally happens over a year. But this time, the firm will trim its performance-based cut more swiftly.
The target is to depart approximately 5% more employees with a sufficient stay at Meta to be eligible for a performance review. These departing employees would still be relieved, but Zuckerberg guaranteed that the firm would provide quite attractive severance packages to the employees leaving.
This is part of Meta’s ongoing effort to maintain high standards of performance across the company, and the company hopes to make improvements during the current performance cycle.
