Kochi, 2 October 2024

Apple Inc, which has recently launched the new iPhone 16, will soon be preparing new budget phone for early next year and new iPad.

The iPhone SE is said to go with the internal codename V59, and is a new entry-level model for Apple. And comes after the final update that is reportedly about the SE in 2022, and so can now boast of 5G capabilities. The new screen of the SE will be an edge-to-edge screen designed like almost all the modern Apple phones instead of the older model SE, which had a home button.

Such a redesign would help Apple gain bigger shares of the affordable smartphone market, particularly in its onslaught on Android brands like Huawei and Xiaomi, among other popular brands in China. The current price of the iPhone SE was at $429, cheaper than the standard iPhone, yet more expensive than many competitors. With the updated SE, Apple looks forward to wooing budget-minded shoppers and reclaiming lost market share.

The new SE is also likely to boast features with Apple Intelligence – a set of AI tools that will take the features of other devices, like the iPhone 16 and last year’s iPhone 15 models, to a whole new level. In terms of design, the new SE would resemble the iPhone 14 whereas the current SE looks more like older iPhone 8 since it has its notch at the top.

There is no official release from Apple so far about these updates.

Besides iPhone SE, Apple is working on newer iPad Air models J607 and J637 with internal hardware upgrades in it. Apple is also adding new Magic Keyboard to iPad Air by updating it with features of the keyboards featured on iPad Pro.

Apple has also refreshed the iPad Air with an M2 chip this year and just added a 13-inch model. Another new iPad mini model codenamed J410 is in the pipeline for later in 2024.

Apple refreshed its Mac offerings this year as well, including the Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and iMac. Those models will feature the new M4 chip and Apple Intelligence. According to Apple, it will make the M4 chip available in the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro in 2025.
