TCL, known for its innovation in displays and smart devices, has teamed up with Microsoft to enhance the TCL 50 NXTPAPER smartphones with advanced AI capabilities. This collaboration brings together TCL’s cutting-edge display technology with Microsoft’s powerful AI tools, marking a significant development for the NXTPAPER series.

The TCL 50 NXTPAPER: A New Era of Smart Technology

The TCL 50 NXTPAPER smartphones feature NXTPAPER technology for superior eye comfort and readability. The integration of AI enhances this technology, offering users an improved experience.

Jefferson Li, General Manager of TCL Mobile Phone BU, highlighted the partnership’s significance: “Today’s mobile users need more than just connectivity. They seek smart, integrated assistance. Our collaboration with Microsoft embeds advanced AI into our devices, turning technology into practical solutions that benefit users.”

AI Integration
The TCL 50 NXTPAPER smartphones will include Microsoft’s Azure cloud technologies, such as Large Language Models (LLM) and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR). These tools enhance productivity and efficiency with sophisticated text processing and voice memo capabilities.

Text Assistant: This feature allows users to interact with text by translating, summarizing or rewriting content through simple drag-and-drop actions. It also includes a writing assistant for drafting emails, summaries, and invitations.

Voice Memo: The Voice Memo feature records, transcribes, and summarizes conversations and meetings using AI. This helps users capture important details and stay focused during discussions.

Data Security

TCL is committed to data security, with AI integration leveraging Microsoft Azure to ensure robust protection. Data is encrypted and stored on local European servers, with cloud-stored data purged after seven days. Users can remove their data from servers at any time, reflecting TCL’s focus on user privacy.

Jeannette Baasner, Microsoft AI Technology Lead, commented on the collaboration: “AI is not just a tool for automation; it’s about creating deeper connections between technology and everyday life. Our partnership with TCL brings this vision to life, offering users intuitive and enriching AI technologies.”

Future Developments
The TCL and Microsoft partnership will extend beyond the TCL 50 NXTPAPER smartphones to future NXTPAPER devices and other TCL products. The goal is to continuously enhance user experience with AI-driven innovations that complement NXTPAPER’s strengths.

This collaboration aims to make technology more accessible, secure and responsive to user needs, setting a new standard for intelligent technology integration.
