The NSE Initial Public Offering (IPO) is open for subscription from September 17, 2018. The applications will continue until September 21.
The total amount of NSE IPO is estimated at ₹22,561.57 crore. The price range of shares has been determined between ₹1,700 and ₹1,785 per piece.

The whole IPO is entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS). So, no fresh issuance of shares will take place from the side of NSE. Some of the current shareholders of NSE will offer the shares to the investors. A total of 12.64 crore shares are to be offered.

There are several existing shareholders who will offer the shares. They are: State Bank of India, SBI Capital Markets, MS Strategic (Mauritius), Aranda Investments (Mauritius), New India Assurance Company, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Stock Holding Corporation of India, United India Insurance Company, General Insurance Corporation of India and Bank of Baroda.

NSE IPO: Minimum Investment

Investor needs to apply for at least 8 shares. Then he/she can apply for shares in multiples of eight.

At the upper price of ₹1,785, an investor will need approximately ₹14,280 in order to apply for 8 shares.

Important IPO Dates

  • IPO opens: September 17
  • IPO closes: September 21
  • Basis of allotment: September 22
  • Refunds start: September 23
  • Shares to be credited in Demat Accounts: September 23
  • Listing Date Expected: September 24

Anchor Investors

NSE managed to garner around ₹6,746 crore from anchor investors before going IPO.

Anchor Investors are large institutional investors who receive shares before going IPO. Some of the big names include LIC, Goldman Sachs, Fidelity, GIC Singapore, Norges Bank, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, HSBC Global Asset Management and many more mutual fund companies.

According to a circular on BSE’s website, NSE had allotted over 3.77 crore shares to 150 anchor investors at ₹1,785 per share. The amount collected from these investors is around ₹6,746.2 crore.
