Google Cloud announced a new initiative with SAP to integrate NotebookLM into “SAP Learning Hub,” the premium guided learning platform, to accelerate product training and professional development. The integration brings AI-generated study guides, podcasts, video overviews, mind maps, timeline overviews, and briefing documents directly into SAP’s curated course content. The offering is now available in SAP’s Partner and Customer Editions.
Learners can access the tools via a single sign-on connection to SAP’s active directory. By selecting the “Upskill faster with AI” option in a course, they are taken to a NotebookLM environment pre-populated with relevant learning curated by SAP and integrated via the highly scalable NotebookLM API. The environment is read-only, ensuring that content quality assurance remains entirely with SAP.The integrated chat feature allows for targeted questions about the learning material and links to the underlying sources.
The benefits are particularly evident in extensive courses. The learning journey “Becoming an SAP BTP Solution Architect” consists of seven units with a total duration of about five hours. NotebookLM uses this content to generate, among other things, a 19-minute audio overview that learners can listen to on their commute, for example, to get a structured introduction to the subject matter before actually taking the course. Shorter formats also benefit. The two-part course “Exploring SAP’s 2026 Strategy” can be quickly grasped through AI-powered processing.
Complex topics such as the security of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) become accessible in just a few minutes as an introduction. The answers are factually accurate thanks to grounding in local materials and include source references to the underlying learning materials, which helps to ensure traceability and makes it easy to refer back to the original documents.
“Generative AI only truly delivers value in a business context when its answers are grounded in reliable knowledge. This is exactly where NotebookLM comes in. By grounding its responses in SAP’s curated learning content, learners receive precise answers with source citations and can be confident that the statements align with the original materials. That’s what distinguishes an impressive demo from a serious tool for professional development,” said Marianne Janik, vice president, EMEA North at Google Cloud.
“Technology only delivers value when people know how to use it. SAP Learning Hub is our solution for premium, digital guided learning, giving customers and partners everything they need to upskill, reskill and certify on our latest innovations in one place. With NotebookLM, we are adding AI-generated formats that make rich, curated learning content even more accessible and grounded in SAP sources. That is how we continue to deliver on our commitment to upskill 12 million people with AI-ready skills by 2030,” said Andre Bechtold, president, SAP Industries & Experiences
Google Cloud and SAP will present details on the rollout expansion and insights into the next development steps at the Google Cloud Summit DACH on June 9 and 10, 2026, at Messe Frankfurt. SAP will host a breakout session on AI-powered learning.
