Union Bank of India reported a 3.03% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit to ₹5,315.76 crore, up from ₹4,984.92 crore in the same period last year. Despite the growth in profit, the bank faced a slight decline in net interest income and net interest margin, while showing improvements in asset quality and growth in key business segments.
The public sector lender’s stock has seen selling pressure post announcement of its results on Thursday. The share price of Union Bank of India was trading 2.4% down at Rs 175.36 (11 AM IST) in the morning trade on Friday in NSE.
