Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will visit Odisha on November 10, 2025, for a series of programmes focused on boosting farmers’ income, promoting natural farming and ensuring nutritional security.
He will attend the ‘Mandia Dibasa (Millet Day)’ inaugural session at Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, as the Chief Guest, highlighting the Central Government’s initiatives to encourage millet production, processing, and consumption. Later, the Minister will visit the Sadar region of Cuttack to interact directly with farmers and assess the implementation of central agricultural programmes.
In the afternoon, he will chair a strategic meeting at ICAR–CRRI, Cuttack, to review initiatives like the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission, and National Mission on Natural Farming. Senior officials, scientists, and state representatives will join discussions aimed at strengthening sustainable and self-reliant agriculture.
The visit underscores the government’s commitment to building a resilient, technology-driven, and environmentally sustainable agricultural ecosystem while supporting farmers through field engagement and participatory policymaking.
