US software firm Natsoft has sued Hexaware Technologies in the US, seeking $500 million in damages. The suit was filed in the US District Court on allegations of patent infringement and contract breach.
Natsoft reports that its subsidiary, Updraft, invested approximately $100 million in creating technology to modernize apps. Updraft has nine patents for this technology. Hexaware’s products, as reported by Natsoft, are incorporating these patents without authorization, and they think this is deliberate and continuing.
Additionally, Natsoft charges Hexaware with violating a contract with Updraft. The firm alleges that Hexaware utilized Updraft’s technology to develop products that directly compete with Updraft, and this resulted in “unjust enrichment,” or Hexaware reaping unfair benefits from this.
Natsoft has requested a jury trial to resolve the case.
