Kochi, 7 August 2025

Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor invested in a scaling supply chain startup named Prozo, the company announced on Tuesday, August 5. Although the size of the investment was not disclosed, the move indicates Kapoor’s interest in successful business models that drive India’s increasing consumer brands.

Kapoor has been around the startup ecosystem already. He has invested in his own fashion brand, ARKS, as well as Mumbai City FC, a football club. His latest move into Prozo indicates that he believes in the relevance of backend infrastructure that enables brands to function better and faster.

What is Prozo?

Prozo is a startup which was initiated in 2016 by Dr. Ashvini Jakhar, an ex-Naval doctor and McKinsey consultant. The startup is Gurugram headquartered and operates 42 intelligent warehouses of 2.2 million square feet in India. They facilitate businesses in distributing their products to more than 24,000 pin codes in the nation.

Prozo currently generates around ₹250 crore revenue annually. It supports more than 150 brands, such as well-known names like Beardo, Snitch, Neemans, PhonePe, Powerlook, and Traya. It provides services to B2B (business-to-business), D2C (direct-to-consumer), and online marketplaces. Prozo integrates warehousing, shipping, and order fulfillment on a single, easy tech platform.

Co-founder Ashvini Jakhar explained, “Ranbir brings strategy and creativity. He wants smooth, consistent operations like we do. We’re looking forward to growing with him.”

Kapoor added his two cents, explaining, “Modern brands need to be fast and consistent. Prozo enables them to do that. I think great service builds trust, and Prozo is accomplishing that behind the scenes.”

What’s Next for Prozo?

Prozo plans to expand further. It aims to add more warehouses to more cities and provide special services to quick commerce businesses and MSMEs. It also plans to enhance its automation and leverage data and forecasts to enable brands to deliver products faster, sometimes the same day.

In June, early this year, another cricketer, Rohit Sharma also invested in Prozo. So far, the startup has raised $20 million from Sixth Sense Ventures and JAFCO Asia among other investors.

More Bollywood celebrities are now investing in big, useful businesses. Among them are Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who are backing startups in healthcare, finance, and many emerging categories, just like Ranbir.
