Adani Group has begun a new project to construct on land adjacent to eight airports in India. The project will take place in three phases and will occupy 655 acres of land.

Airports covered are at:

  • Mumbai
  • Navi Mumbai
  • Ahmedabad
  • Lucknow
  • Jaipur
  • Guwahati
  • Bengaluru
  • Thiruvananthapuram

In Phase 1, 114 acres of land will be developed by Adani. Approximately 50 acres will be at Navi Mumbai and Mumbai airports. The remaining (approximately 65 acres) will be dispersed over the other six airports.

The company will construct things such as:

  • Hotels
  • Shops and Malls
  • Restaurants and Food Courts
  • Offices
  • Entertainment centers
  • Convention halls

All of this will be constructed on land outside the airport terminals, but within the airport precinct. These areas are known as “city-side developments” and are designed to assist both travelers and residents of areas around the airport.

The organization operating these airports is Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL). Currently, the primary operational airport is Mumbai, while other airports continue to be expanded or upgraded.

The Navi Mumbai airport will open by October 2025, and become operational in full within six months later. There could also be a second terminal constructed there in the near future.

They haven’t mentioned how much they would spend yet. But Phase 1 is planned to center on hotels, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment areas. Phase 2 and Phase 3 will have other kinds of shops and leasing options.

In the first quarter of the 2025–26 financial year:

  • The airports business made ₹10,224 crore (a 25% increase).
  • They served 23.4 million passengers (up by 3%).
  • They handled 2.8 lakh tonnes of cargo (up by 4%).
  • Adani Enterprises has a total debt of ₹61,500 crore, out of which:
  • ₹30,900 crore is from the airport projects,
  • ₹14,600 crore from road projects,
  • ₹8,700 crore from a project in Australia.

The firm further stated that international trade is volatile currently. Due to this reason, prices can remain low, and this could impact a number of Adani’s other ventures such as mining and new energy. This has also reduced their profits by 45% against last year.
