Women remain underrepresented in senior business positions despite the evolving business environment. Women currently occupy 29% of C-suite jobs, compared to 17% in 2015, as indicated in a report. The pace of progress is slow because of obstacles such as gender stereotypes, limited opportunities, and institutional obstacles.

In order to fill this shortfall, the Women Leadership Programme at IIM Kozhikode was instituted. It is a course that enables women executives to career-fast-track themselves to the level of top management and board of directors. It imparts valuable business acumen, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to enable women to excel in today’s high-tech corporate landscape.

The best candidates for this program are mid-career women who wish to progress rapidly, as well as senior women executives who need to develop their leadership skills. This program provides training in ethical leadership and empowers women with the confidence to lead with influence.

The program features executive education joined with hands-on leadership training and networking. The program is built around skills of climbing corporate ranks, leading teams of diverse workforces, and impacting boardroom decisions. Strategic negotiations, leadership in emerging markets, innovation in leadership, emotional intelligence, are some of the workshop topics addressed.

The seven modules of the program are as follows:

  • Diversity and Women Empowerment
  • Financial Acumen for Women Leaders
  • Business Excellence and Competencies
  • Strategic Thinking
  • Innovation in the Age of AI and Digital
  • Organizational Leadership & Sustainability
  • Executive Presence and Influence

It consists of two on-campus immersions, live interactive sessions, coaching, and a capstone project. The program focuses on real-world applications and challenges, and it urges women to create diversity and inclusion strategies for companies.

After completing the program, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by IIM Kozhikode, as well as Alumni Status, which provides great value to their professional lives.

Women Leadership Programme is an invaluable platform for women to become better leaders, break some molds, and leave a lasting footprint in their organizations. The program will last for 10 months and commence on March 31, 2025. Classes are scheduled on Sundays. The charge is Rs 3,50,000 (plus GST).
