AI-powered research and conversational search engine, Perplexity AI plans to introduce advertising on its artificial intelligence-powered search platform by the fourth quarter, the company said.
The Nvidia and Jeff Bezos-backed AI startup last month launched a programme for publishers that will share revenue from interactions with publishers when their content is referenced.
In April, Perplexity AI raised $62.7 million from existing investors such as Nvidia, and new investors including Garry Tan, CEO of Y Combinator, and Brad Gerstner, founder and CEO of Altimeter Capital.
The fundraising round valued the company at more than $1 billion, turning it into a unicorn.
Earlier, the company has said its app has been downloaded more than two million times and that it answers more than 230 million queries a month. Users from the UShas increased eightfold in the past year, according to a presentation.
