OpenAI reported that more than 1 million business customers around the world are directly using OpenAI—the fastest-growing business platform in history. This includes all organizations that actively pay OpenAI for business use—either through ChatGPT for Work, or through direct consumption of its models through the developer platform. The company stated that it is proud to work with category leaders in industries like financial services, healthcare, retail and more, where its technology is making intelligence central to customer experiences, internal operations, and team-level workflows.
According to OpenAI, enterprise momentum is fueled in part by consumer adoption. With more than 800 million weekly users already familiar with ChatGPT, adoption and ROI within businesses are realized more rapidly. The company reported having more than 7 million total ChatGPT for Work seats, up 40% in just two months, while ChatGPT Enterprise seats have grown ninefold year-over-year.
OpenAI further noted that it has launched new tools, integrations, and capabilities to support businesses, including company knowledge, Codex, AgentKit and advancements in multimodal models such as Sora 2 and Realtime API. The company added that organizations like Cisco, Carlyle, Indeed, Lowe’s, Intercom, Databricks, Canva, Figma, Spotify and Salesforce are leveraging its technologies to enhance operations and customer engagement.
The firm said that as it looks ahead to 2026 and beyond, it remains focused on helping enterprises build next-generation applications and workflows while reimagining the operating system for work.
