The recent statement from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has clarified the situation regarding the quality of Indian spices. Minister of State Anupriya Patel explained that Singapore and Hong Kong had simply placed some Indian spice shipments under a ‘Hold-And-Test’ protocol as part of standard procedure. She emphasized that this action did not constitute a ban on any Indian spice products or brands.
In light of this clarification, Sanjeev Shah, Chairman of Everest Food Products Pvt. Ltd., remarked, “This announcement is a significant boost for the Indian spice industry. We want to make it clear that Everest products were never banned in Singapore, Hong Kong, or any other country. The recent speculation has caused unnecessary confusion. Everest Foods appreciates the continued support from our loyal customers, distributors, and stakeholders.”
Established in 1967, Everest has become a household name, offering a wide range of spice blends and pure spices to meet diverse culinary needs. With millions of households relying on Everest Foods, the recent statement from the Minister of State (MoS) is set to strengthen not only Everest but also other Indian brands, reinforcing the global reputation of Indian spices and dispelling any doubts about their purity.
