Digital services and telecom company Jio Platforms of the Reliance Group is expected to hit the Indian share market in October. As per the reports by PTI, the valuation of the company is around USD 143–146 billion, which is much more than ₹12 lakh crore .
The company will be raising about USD 3.8 billion in the planned Initial Public Offering (IPO). If it happens so, then it could turn out to be the largest IPO in the history of India.
Jio Platforms has already conducted roadshows in many foreign countries in order to attract investors. The company is now reportedly preparing for the final papers that need to be filed for the IPO.
When Will Be the Jio IPO?
As per the reports, Jio Platforms could be filing its final IPO papers in the week commencing October 12. Jio Platforms could be meeting large institutional investors called anchor investors in the period just before Dussehra.
The IPO could open for retail investors before October 23. In case everything goes well, then Jio Platforms shares could be listed in the stock market by the end of the month of October.
Earlier Jio Platforms had filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) in June.

Jio Platforms is expected to mobilize an approximate amount of USD 3.8 billion through the IPO. The value of Jio Platforms can range from USD 143 billion to USD 146 billion.
For the Reliance Group, this IPO will be a significant move because this would be the first public offering made by the group since 2008. This IPO would also be the first IPO of the consumer-based business of the Reliance Group.
The IPO will only comprise of 27 crore new equity shares. There won’t be any offer for sale in the IPO by the existing stockholders.
The proceeds from the IPO will mainly be utilized to repay the debt of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, among other business objectives.
Jio’s Dominance in the Market
Reliance Jio is the largest telecommunication company in India. Reliance Jio’s telecommunication services cover 39.29% of India’s mobile connection users and the customers are nearly 506 million.
In case of the fixed line services, the market share of Jio is 32.89%, serving approximately 157.9 million customers.
Reliance Industries, founded by Mukesh Ambani, owns 66.4% of Jio Platforms. The technology firms Meta and Google own nearly 17.7%.
