NMDC Limited reported provisional iron ore production of 4.64 million tonnes (MT) for April 2026, up 16% compared to 4.00 MT in April 2025, reflecting improved output from its core mining operations.
Sales for the month stood at 3.68 MT, marginally higher than 3.63 MT in the year-ago period, indicating stable offtake despite market fluctuations.
Segment-wise Performance
- Chhattisgarh operations drove growth, with production rising to 3.66 MT from 2.85 MT YoY, while sales increased to 3.16 MT from 2.82 MT.
- Karnataka operations saw a decline, with production at 0.98 MT versus 1.15 MT last year, and sales dropping to 0.52 MT from 0.81 MT.
Operational Trend
The overall production growth was primarily supported by higher volumes from Chhattisgarh mines, offsetting weaker output in Karnataka. Sales growth remained largely stable, suggesting balanced demand conditions at the start of FY27.
The company disclosed the data under regulatory filings to stock exchanges in line with SEBI (LODR) requirements.
